Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space… not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere. Get ready to relax as you gaze upon Carnival Liberty's gentle wake from your spacious balcony. An interior room on a cruise, typically situated inside the ship, is a snug haven without windows. While they’re often the most budget-friendly option, Carnival Cruise Line has a unique twist. Some of their “interior” rooms actually offer limited ocean views! Imagine getting a peek of the vast ocean without paying the price of something like one of these Carnival Cruise balcony rooms.
CLOUD 9 SPA INTERIOR
Interior rooms on Carnival Cruise vary in size depending on the ship and category. While the smaller ones might feel a tad snug, they offer unbeatable value, especially for those who plan to spend most of their time exploring the ship’s amenities. Carnival Jubilee offers a Havana Experience enclave, a private area (accessible only by keycard) where guests staying in these cabins get exclusive access to a small pool, outdoor bar and sun deck.
Premium Vista Balcony
Balcony staterooms will have all of the above as well as a door leading to an exterior space, normally not counted but listed separately in the total square footage of the accommodations. Other than the occasional 1A with a porthole, most porthole and obstructed view cabins are considered category 4J. These cabins provide natural light, but the view is blocked by lifeboats or other shipboard equipment. If you are not looking for a specific view, category 4J cabins are often competitively priced. In-cabin babysitting is not available (read more at Camp Ocean below). Cribs in cruise cabins are provided complimentary (upon request).
Shore excursions with no minimum age limits let you customize experiences for the entire family to enjoy, such as cruising to Alaska and going on a Dog Sled Discovery and Mushing Camp adventure. After a day, and night of fun and kid-friendly dining, head back to a comfy stateroom that suits your family. Cruise Radio prioritizes well-balanced cruise news coverage and accurate reporting, paired with ship reviews and tips. Cloud 9 Spa accommodations guests have private access to the spa and are eligible for exclusive spa packages and discounts. A more affordable option is the Cove Balcony, which is located on the lower decks and is inset from the side of the ship. Excel Corner Suites are with starboard and portside locations and feature wet bar, separate lounging-sleeping areas, wraparound balconies (with dining and lounging areas).
Interior with Picture Window (Walkway View)
The latter three come with additional perks that you might want for your cruise vacation, such as access to the exclusive Family Harbor lounge or Havana pool. While the majority of the fun will be located outside of your stateroom, you still want a comfortable “home away from home” that you can return to each evening and rest for the next day’s adventure. Every stateroom has amenities (including your dedicated room steward) that rival land-locked five-star hotels.
On the entertainment side of things, Carnival Liberty features two of our best, live on stage. First there's Playlist Productions™, where pros sing and dance their hearts out, performing high-energy themed revues of tunes you know, backed by amazing visual effects. Then there's Punchliner™ Comedy Club where you'll find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening.
Balcony cabins typically measure around 185 square feet, not including the veranda area, which often measures 35 square feet. This is the best room you can get… without bunking up with the guy himself. A Captain’s Suite aboard Carnival Liberty features tons of indoor space, and a huge balcony when you need a little more. Back inside you’ll find a king-size bed, two full bathrooms (one with whirlpool tub), plus a separate living room that sleeps another three.
You'll also want to book early if you're aiming for a suite — particularly if you want one of the best suites on a Carnival ship. The takeaway here is that you'll have a tougher time locking down a balcony cabin on an older Carnival ship than on a newer vessel. If you're planning a cruise on one of the line's older vessels and a balcony cabin is a must, you'll want to book early to make sure you get one. On newer Carnival ships, a significant portion of cabins are balcony cabins — the rooms everyone wants these days. But the ratio of balcony cabins to non-balcony cabins on Carnival's newer ships isn't nearly as high as on the newer ships of some rival lines such as Royal Caribbean.
Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space; not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere. Get ready to relax as you gaze upon Carnival Paradise's gentle wake from your spacious balcony. Any time you’re in your room, you’re steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis… designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views. Note that on some Carnival ships, specific categories of balcony cabins have larger balconies than most. Often these rooms are at the back of the ships overlooking the wake. On the Carnival Celebration ship, smoking allowed areas (cigarettes /incl electronic cigarettes) are the Casino (designated areas on Deck 7) and Piano Bar 88 (Deck 6 lobby bar).
Guests are allowed to bring their own power strips, extension cords (without surge protectors), AC adapters and multi-plug boxes (powerboards with multiple electrical sockets). Premium interiors, available only on the Mardi Gras, are essentially spacious versions of standard interior rooms. They offer more room to move around, making them a great choice for those who prioritize space without the need for a view. These rooms, either category 4J or 4K, have windows that offer limited views due to obstructions like lifeboats. While the view might be restricted, the influx of natural light can be a game-changer for many. In terms of the decor, the general color scheme is burnt-orange, burgundy and brown with light woods, while Art Deco touches abound throughout.
Onboard, you'll find more interior rooms than those with balconies. In fact, there are only 98 standard balcony cabins on this vessel. Cruise ship's Sail & Sign card (cashless onboard credit account) doubles as stateroom key.
Booking a Cloud 9 Spa Interior room (category 4S or 4T) grants you exclusive spa perks. From priority spa bookings to unlimited access to the Thermal Suites, it’s a haven for relaxation enthusiasts. Although classified as interior rooms, porthole staterooms (category PT) have twin round windows.
They are the least expensive cabins on the ship, and often represent an excellent value. New categories "Family Harbor" cabins include FS-Suites, FO-Family Harbor Aft Balcony, FM-Cove Balcony, FJ-Deluxe Oceanview, FE-Oceanview, FA-Interior. Staterooms for families are designed with larger living area and have bigger capacity (double sofabeds, additional bunk beds). Family Harbor cabins are all located near the Family Harbor Lounge (Deck 4 forward-midship). This exclusive complex for families offers 24-hour dining options, concierge service, board and video games, large screen for movies. Carnival Celebration has CCL fleet's first cabin bathrooms with glass-door showers and in-shower shaving bar and also fleet's first (and largest) "Carnival Excel" suites.
